Travel time is part of the job
Set a buffer before and after each service and it is blocked out in your diary without the customer seeing it. An hour's work with thirty minutes either side takes two hours out of your day, which is the truth of it.
One person, one diary
Most mobile mechanics are a one-man band, and the software should not make you pretend otherwise. Set your hours, set your services, and the booking page only ever offers what you can actually get to.
If you take someone on, add them and give them their own hours. There is no extra charge for a second person, or a fifth.
Getting paid
Chasing money is the worst part of the job. Take a deposit when the booking is made — enough to cover parts and your time if they change their mind — and the balance is recorded against the job. Or take nothing online and settle on the driveway. Both work.
Mobile mechanics often ask
Yes — buffers are set per service, so a quick battery swap can carry thirty minutes either side while a longer job carries an hour.
Set a minimum notice period. Twenty-four hours is common; some set forty-eight so they can plan a route.
The customer's address is captured with the booking and sits on the record. Route planning and mapping are not built in yet.
